The Broad Exchange: #IRESOLVE
Visualizing the Power of Personal Resolve
I collaborated with The Broad Exchange—a national professional women's networking group based in NYC—to create an interactive photography experience for their #IRESOLVE event. Following the divisive climate of 2017, the project was designed to empower women to use their resolve to address conflict and create positive impact in their communities.
My brief was to develop and execute a concept that captured and visualized the inner power of each attendee through portraiture. I created an original photography treatment centered on mixing the ethereal with the real—capturing the energy of each person's resolve by presenting them in flattering natural light while surrounding them with a visualization of the actual energy they were putting out into the world. The set design featured clear quartz crystals, symbolizing the clarity and strength of their commitments.
The real challenge was technical: photograph fifty subjects, retouch in real-time, and provide on-site prints—all within two hours. I set up a live printing station so attendees could walk away with a unique, one-of-a-kind portrait that served as both a personal keepsake and a shareable moment on social media. This tactile, interactive studio experience added a moment of reflection for each participant while amplifying their commitments beyond the event itself.
The project garnered press coverage from Working Not Working, Milk.xyz, Shots, and LBB Online.
